Benefit:

Developed multi-year strategic IT plan to implement CIO's vision for the firm focused on supporting the firm's dramatic growth in revenues and staff. Also established a planning process for the CIO to re-examine the plan on a regular basis, adjusting it as needed in response to new business conditions, and extend it to the end of the third year so that it became a rolling plan.
Highlights
  • Key objectives achieved:

    • Instituted and leverage standard processes so management can concentrate on aberrant performance and exploit opportunities as they arise. One instance of this was the establishment of a "bank branch in a box" to reduce time and effort required to provision of a new retail branch location.

    • Implemented formal IT governance program via an IT Steering Committee to include other business unit executives in determining relative priorities for projects in the IT portfolio.

    • Laid the groundwork for a working partnership between the firm and their key IT vendors: HP, Cisco, Microsoft, EMC, etc.

  • The plan guided IT growth as the firm quadrupled revenues in 24 months and almost doubled head count in the same period.
