 Executive Director received roadmap to support his organizational strategic plan supporting his vision for increasing productivity, reduce examination scoring time and reduce the effort maintaining the voluminous paper files required to support certification efforts. Adoption of the 2000 strategic plan jump started efforts to modernize the organization's IT infrastructure which was firmly rooted in 1985.
Highlights

  • The IT strategic plan developed included adopting email for all staff, expanded use of standard communications with certificate candidates and implementation of document imaging system.

  • The certification archives included over 1 million documents including applications, examination results, reference letters and work history records covering the multi-year certification process.

  • The plan included efforts to replace the aging, difficult to support candidate information system including the examination production and scoring system and migrate it to a distributed PC environment from a central minicomputer environment.
