The 80 staff members arrived at their
new location Monday morning after the move and 95%+ had
no issues with the new PCs, login credentials, or
locating shared resources. |
Highlights
|
|
|
-
I
developed the relocation strategy for the operation
working with the business owner on issues such as
new equipment vs. redeploying existing resources,
priorities for supporting the various business
functions moving, and the budget for the project.
-
As
the lead engineer, I designed the network, shared
resource assignments, and physical cable plant for
the two floor new office complex. I then supervised
the cabling subcontractor including certification of
the resulting cable plant.
-
On
relocation weekend, supervised preparation of the
old servers (backups, verifications, testing) prior
to the move. For user system deployment I had a team
of eight engineers to deploy new PCs for all users
in the firm, move the redeployed file servers,
implement the new servers and reconfiguration of all
resources to reflect the new environment. No
information was lost during the process.
-
Monday after the move, we had few configuration or
resource issues, the majority of problems were user
training related to new login processes, etc.
